Full Bio
A BRIEF HISTORY
As long as Kacee can remember, she was singing. She grew up in a musical family and a church with an active music program, giving her a firm foundation for what would later become a lifestyle. Although Kacee studied classical voice, she dove into many genres of music, including black gospel, funk, vocal ensemble pop, musicals, folk and rock-n-roll. She eventually took classes at University of the Pacific’s Conservatory of Music, studying classical, baroque, and jazz. She quickly learned that she was a bit of an outcast in that world, and turned her focus in a more accepting direction, learning the art of commercial singing through jingles, songwriter demos and soundtrack.

ON THE ROAD
Big Brother and the Holding Company
In 2002, Kacee joined BBHC, Janis Joplin’s original San Francisco-based band, as their lead vocalist. She spent the next decade touring with them throughout the U.S. and Europe, carving out a name for herself as a raw and energetic powerhouse.

Joe Cocker
From 2004-2008, Kacee joined forces with legendary singer, Joe Cocker, which included both his Heart & Soul and Hymn For My Soul world tours. Joe was a one-of-a-kind artist and a lovely human. He is sorely missed.
THEATRE/BROADWAY
Kacee’s career took a surprising turn in 2001, when she joined the vibrant world of theatre as the lead in a regional production of "Love, Janis", a rock musical about the life and music of the legendary Janis Joplin. Over the next decade, between tours as a background singer, she joined the production at various theatres, including the San Diego Rep, Kansas City Rep, and Downstairs Cabaret Theatre in Rochester, NY. Kacee’s name was forever inked on a very short list of women honored to play such a rich and challenging character.
